The witches ladder is a folk magic tool, typically made using feathers tied to a string. The spell’s invocation is a thought form transmission, a mantra that is mentally or verbally repeated during the binding action. These ladders are made of smokey quartz crystals and Japanese Kinbaku rope. I worked in collaboration with an adept Shibari master whose skilled in the traditional art of Kinbaku. The knotting and gravity create an illusion of free flowing forms that hold the crystals in place. There are five ladders and each one carries a different vibration; love, peace, kindness, reverence for sentient beings and healing the earth.
