I began collecting dead animals that I’d find on the roadside when I was living in the Santa Monica Mountains or working in the field on photography projects. I didn't have a purpose for picking them up and saving them inside of a second hand freezer in the garage. I found these creatures beautiful and I decided to make some artwork that memorialized their grace and character.
